You’ll be obsessed with this EASY avocado lime ranch dressing. Add it your favorite salads, tacos, wraps, or use it as a dipping sauce for chicken nuggets or grilled shrimp!
I have a confession to make. While I love whipping up homemade salad dressing, there’s something about the 5 million ingredients needed to make a proper ranch dressing that just doesn’t feel worth it to me. Especially when there are some store-bought brands of ranch dressing that are DELICIOUS. And trust me, I know my ranch dressing because I am a born-and-raised Midwesterner.
But even I like a little variety. Which means I’m the queen of jazzing up my bottle ranch to pair with salads or my mood. Like this delicious avocado lime ranch dressing. By adding just a few fresh ingredients and giving a it a good blend, you’ll have the perfect dressing to vibe with your Mexican chicken salad, your Tex-Mex tacos, or your Southwestern wraps.
Why You’ll Love this Avocado Lime Ranch Dressing
- It’s EASY. Like, really, really easy. It starts with some bottled ranch dressing, and you add a couple fresh ingredients, blend it up and MAGIC!
- The flavor is the bomb! Creamy avocado, zesty limes, and that cool ranch flavor we all love.

Avocado Lime Ranch Ingredients
Bottled Ranch Dressing
We’ll be using bottled ranch dressing. Some of my favorite ranch dressings are Ken’s Steakhouse Ranch and Kraft Classic Ranch. Here’s a fun list of bottled ranch dressing rankings. ->
Avocado
We’ll be using half of an avocado. Since we’ll be blending it into the dressing, the more ripe, the better. A little bit brown is ok too.
Fresh Lime Juice
Since this is a key ingredient, I suggest you use freshly squeezed lime juice and not the kind that comes in the plastic squeeze bottles.
Optional
I added a little cilantro for flavor, but you can leave it out if you prefer. If you like a little heat, feel free to add in a diced up jalapeño. And finally, I like a thick ranch dressing, but if you like something thinner, feel free to add in a tablespoon or so of milk to thin the dressing.
How to make Avocado Lime Ranch Dressing
This dressing is SO easy to whip up, I feel bad even calling it a recipe. You’ll start by adding the ranch dressing, lime juice, avocado and cilantro to a small blender cup. Feel free to add in a diced jalapeño if you like a little heat.
Next, just blend it up and taste. Add a little more lime juice, more cilantro, a squirt of hot sauce or even a pinch of salt.
This is the best part of making a homemade dressing – you get to customize it to your EXACT tastes!
Drizzle this avocado lime ranch dressing over my Mexican chicken salad or use it as a dipping sauce for chicken quesadillas, or as a sauce to accompany my air fryer chicken fajitas.
