These days, I find that I use my air fryer more than any other appliance in my home. I never find myself turning on the oven, and I even prefer reheating my leftovers in an air fryer than in a microwave. And one of my favorite things to cook in an air fryer is shrimp. Air frying shrimp makes them crispy on the outside and deliciously juicy on the inside. Once you try air frying your shrimp, you’ll never go back to cooking them in a pan or on the grill.

Shrimp Taco Ingredients
These chili-lime shrimp tacos contain just a few ingredients, but they pack a big flavor punch.
Spices
- Salt
- Paprika (smoked or regular)
- Garlic Powder
- Oregano
- Chili Powder
Shrimp
I prefer jumbo or large shrimp, so I look for bags of shrimp that contain about 21- 25 shrimp in a pound. Make sure you clean, devein, and remove any shrimp tails. If your shrimp is frozen, place it in a colander and run it under cool water for about 2 minutes until the shrimp is thaw, or place the bag of frozen shrimp in your fridge over night.
Make sure to pat your shrimp dry before using.
Other
You’ll also need some oil and lime juice. I used olive oil, but you can use canola or avocado oil if you prefer. And freshly squeezed lime juice tastes best.
How to Make Air Fryer Shrimp Tacos
You’ll start by making sure your shrimp is clean and patted dry with a paper towel.
In a small bowl, mix together your spices.
Place shrimp is a large bowl and drizzle on some olive oil. Add your spices and stir to coat well. Squeeze in your lime juice and give it another stir to combine.
Place shrimp in air fryer and cook for about 8 minutes at 400 degrees, shaking basket halfway through.
I used large shrimp, so if your shrimp is smaller, check to see if they are done at the 6 minute mark.
Shrimp will be plump and opaque when done.
To Assemble the Tacos:
- Warm your favorite corn or flour tortilla.
- Add cooked shrimp.
- Top with your favorite toppings like shredded cabbage, red onion, pickled radishes, avocado, cheese or sauce.
I love serving these air fryer shrimp tacos with my homemade cilantro lime crema.
