Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

You are going to LOVE this easy “2 Ingredient Naan”. Soft, fluffy and totally delicious, this Greek yogurt naan cooks up in less than 10 minutes!

side view of two ingredient naan.

We make A LOT of Indian food at my house. And we always serve our curries with this EASY Greek yogurt naan. I call it my “2 ingredient” naan because it’s made using the viral 2 ingredient dough (Greek yogurt + self-rising flour) but if we’re being technical, I also add a little salt, brush with butter, and sprinkle with cilantro for that “naan-from-an-Indian-restaurant” vibe.

Why You’ll Love this 2 Ingredient Naan

  • Minimal ingredients: We need self-rising flour (or mix up your own self-rising flour with my notes below), Greek yogurt, and a bit of salt. If you’re feeling fancy, you can brush with some butter. That’s it!
  • Quick and Easy: Since we’re not using yeast, Greek yogurt naan can be made in less than 10 minutes! That’s faster than delivery!
  • Easy to Customize: If you’re dairy-free, you can substitute coconut yogurt for the Greek yogurt and brush with oil instead of butter. If you’re gluten-free, you can sub gluten-free flour.

Greek Yogurt Naan Ingredients & Notes

Greek Yogurt

I used a non-fat Greek yogurt in this 2 ingredient naan recipe. Because some brands are thicker or runnier than others, think of the recipe measurements as a guideline, and add in a bit more yogurt or flour one teaspoon at a time if needed to get the dough to the perfect consistency.

Self-Rising Flour

Because we’re not using yeast, we’ll need to use self-rising flour to make sure we have enough leavening for our naan. Look for flour that’s labeled “self-rising.” If you don’t have this or can’t find it, no worries! It’s easy to make your own self-rising flour mix.

To Make Your Own Self-Rising Flour: Mix together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1.5 teaspoons of baking powder, and 0.25 teaspoon of salt.

Optional Ingredients

I like to brush my 2 ingredient naan with a bit of butter and sprinkle with cilantro.

How to Make 2-Ingredient Naan

Add your self-rising flour and salt to a bowl and mix together. Add in the Greek yogurt and and mix until it comes together in a ball. Since different brands of flour and yogurt behave differently, you may need to add a bit more flour if dough is to wet, or a bit more yogurt if the dough is too crumbly (1 tsp at a time). Dough should be soft.

Once dough has come together, knead dough ball for about 1 minutes until smooth. Next, separate into four pieces and roll into balls. Lightly flour your surface and rolling pin. Roll out to 1/4 inch. I prefer a more rustic 2-ingredient naan, but you can roll into any shape you prefer.

Next you’ll heat a nonstick pan over medium heat. Lay rolled dough in dry skillet for 3 minutes, and then flip, cooking the other side for another 2-3 minutes.

Brush lightly with salted butter. This will give your Greek yogurt naan a beautiful glossy finish. Sprinkle with cilantro if desired. Serve your 2 ingredient naan with your favorite curries for dipping, like this delicious chicken spinach curry!
