Everyone needs a simple recipe to pull out on a busy weeknight, and this quick air fryer frozen shrimp Caesar salad is that recipe! All you need are some frozen shrimp, a few basic spices, and bagged salad, and dinner is served!
I don’t know about you, but I ALWAYS have a bag of frozen shrimp on hand. It’s so quick to defrost and toss into a quick stir fry or pasta dish, or in this case, to give a basic bagged Caesar salad kit a major glow up!
How to Make Air Fryer Frozen Shrimp
When I’m cooking shrimp in an air fryer, I love to use jumbo sized or very large shrimp. Shrimp cooks so quickly that smaller shrimp can easily overcook in an air fryer.
To defrost shrimp, I like to place my frozen shrimp in a bowl, and set it in the sink under running tap water. You just let the water run and, in a few minutes, the shrimp will be defrosted.
If the shrimp isn’t already cleaned, devein the shrimp, and then pat dry with paper towel.
Next, mix together a bit of olive oil and fresh lemon juice in a large bowl.
For the seasonings, I like to use salt, freshly ground pepper, garlic powder and paprika.
Mix your seasoning with the olive oil/lemon mixture.
Then add in your shrimp and toss to gently coat. I like to line line my air fryer tray with a piece of parchment, and then add the shrimp in a single layer. If your air fryer is smaller, you can do this in two batches.
The air fryer frozen shrimp will take approximately 10 minutes at 400 degrees. However, if you are using smaller sized shrimp, it should be done after about 8 minutes. Shake shrimp half way through, or turn shrimp over with tongs.
While shrimp is cooking, toss together your bagged salad. Finally, top with your air fryer shrimp and additional fresh black pepper, and dinner is served!
