Easy Air Fryer Carrot Fries

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

These simple air fryer carrot fries turns a boring vegetable into an addictive snack!

air fryer carrot fries.

I was craving sweet potato fries the other day and we didn’t have any sweet potatoes.

And then I saw a bag of carrots in the corner of my crisper bin and I thought, why not? And I’m so happy I did because these air fryer carrot fries are DELICIOUS and healthy! All you need is a bit of oil, a few basic spices, and that humble orange vegetable gets transformed into straight MAGIC. These carrot fries are my new favorite snack.

BONUS: My little one also devoured her crispy carrot fries so I’m marking this off as a total win.

These carrots crisp up beautifully in an air fryer, plus the spices give it a great flavor so you can enjoy plain OR dipped in ketchup.

Crispy Carrot Fries Ingredients

This recipe comes together easily with just a few key ingredients. I peeled my carrots but you don’t have to if you don’t want.

ingredients.

To make these air fryer carrots, you’ll need 3 or 4 medium size carrots, a bit of olive oil, and some simple spices. I seasoned my carrot fries with garlic powder, paprika, dried thyme and salt. Feel free to sprinkle on a little parsley after the fries are done cooking for a little color.

How to Make Carrot Fries

cut carrots.

Start by chopping your carrots into fries. You’ll want them to be roughly about the same size and shape so they cook evenly.

raw carrots with seasoning.

Next you’ll add in your spices and olive oil, and give everything a good stir.

spread on sheet pan.

You’ll want to lay the carrot fries in a single layer in your air fryer sheet pan or basket (depending on the style of air fryer you have). You may need to do this in batches.

Air fry the carrots until fork tender and caramelized, shaking the basket or sheet pan half-way through cooking.

  • 3 or 4 (300g) carrots
  • 2 tsp (5g) olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • pinch salt and pepper (about 1/4 tsp each)

Instructions

  • Start by scrubbing your carrots. I like to peel my carrots when I make carrot fries, but you can leave the peels on, too.
  • Cut carrots into roughly 3-inch x 1/4" strips
  • Place cut carrots in a bowl and drizzle on the olive oil.
  • Add spices and mix to coat carrot fries in the olive and spice mixture.
  • Spread out on your air fryer basket or sheet pan (depending on the style of air fryer you have). If your basket is small, you may need to do this batches because you don't want the carrot fries to be overcrowded.
