2 each(27.5oz)cans, baked beans(I used zero sugar added beans)
1/4 cup(64g)barbecue sauce(I used no sugar added sauce)
1/4 cups(45g)brown sugar(or sub brown sugar substitute, maple syrup, or sugar free pancake syrup)
1 tsp(5g)yellow mustard
1/2tspsalt
1tspgarlic powder
2 tsp(9g)olive oil
Instructions
Place a large skillet or large pot over medium-high heat.
Once hot, add in 2 tsp of olive oil, diced onions and diced bell pepper.
Cook, stirring often, until onions and peppers are soft, about 5 minutes.
Add lean ground beef and crumble and cook until well browned. If you used a higher fat ground beef, drain off any excess fat.
Add in spices and mustard and cook for 1 minute.
Add in both cans of baked beans, barbecue sauce and brown sugar. Give everything a good stir. Taste and add in more spices or brown sugar if desired.
Pour baked beans and ground beef mixture to a large baking dish and bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees.
